ALL THE SUPPLIERS WE WORK WITH ARE CLOSE-CIRCUIT.
"Fashion is one of the most polluting industries"
BARCELOS (PORTUGAL)
Our production is located in Barcelos (Portugal), a town north of Porto characterized by the textile industry for high quality brands.
Our decision to produce in Barcelos and not in other long-circuit locations such as Turkey or China is to ensure quality from the outset. This means that we can travel often to visit the factory, keep up to date with the processes and manufacturing and above all it gives us the assurance that things are being done in the most responsible, ethical and sustainable way possible. In addition, a large part of the environmental impact, such as transportation, is radically reduced.
Our way of working to ensure short traceability is to concentrate as many processes as possible in a single area, so that the making, washing, dyeing and printing are done in a close radius.
PRODUCTION
Our garment production process is complex as it goes through several phases.
First we choose the best fabrics, we understand as best fabrics those that are made with a sustainable material, that have a very good grammage and that have the type of spinning as we want. Generally we use French Terry for sweatshirts and softer cottons for knits, t-shirts or other fabrics.
Then comes the washing and dyeing part where the fabric gets the desired color, in this phase the fabric usually gets a little bit thicker.
From there, we move on to stamping and manufacturing, where human capital comes into play. With this we get a finished product waiting to be labeled, bagged and shipped and ready to be distributed.
"Made to Last"
MATERIALS
Fashion is not sustainable, in fact it is one of the most polluting industries in existence. That's why small changes can make a big difference.
In our case the way to change is through the use of materials that are made to last, that are of the highest quality and that result in an excellent garment.
The material we mainly use is the best quality Cotton, we use Organic Cotton.
Normally this cotton usually has passed more strict procedures of cultivation and harvesting even though many times it is just a certificate so the best we can do is to let you know about it.
As a brand that tries to be as sustainable as possible we have to be aware that things do not change overnight and that there are many interests at stake in the industry, we have to find a way to make sustainability a must and make it profitable for the industry.
